BCS National Championship Game BCS #1 vs. BCS #2
The Louisiana Superdome in New Orleans, LA will host the biggest college
football game of the 2012 season.
The BCS National Championship Game will be held at the
Louisiana Superdome. Every year college football fans eagerly
await for the announcement of the BCS National Championship
teams and this years BCS Season Game will take place January
9, 2012 at Louisiana Superdome in New Orleans,
LA.
The BCS may well be flawed, but no matter who you think
should have played in the game, the fact remains that two of
the best college football teams in the nation will be
playing for the right to the title.
There has been some much debated clashing as to how the
teams are selected to participate in the BCS Title Game.
Some of the most prominent disputes have been the 2001 BCS
Title Game when the University of Oregon was passed up in
favor of Nebraska University, which suffered a staggering
loss in the final game of their regular season. The 2003 BCS
season resulted in more unhappy players and coaches when USC
was not considered. The following year two undefeated
schools, Auburn University and University of Utah, did not
make it to the BCS game.
At the end of the college football season, teams that are a
part of the “Bowl Alliance”, formerly called the “Bowl
Coalition”, are averaged. The highest rated teams play each
other for the BCS Championship Title. The winner of the game
is given the AFCA National Championship Trophy immediately
following the game, as well as the MacArthur Trophy.
